A Space to Reconnect and Grow

Couples therapy is more than just resolving conflict. It provides a space to:

  • Communicate more effectively, with less blame and more clarity

  • Understand recurring patterns or emotional triggers in your relationship

  • Rebuild trust and intimacy

  • Navigate transitions such as parenting, marriage, relocation, or separation

  • Strengthen emotional connection and mutual support

Whether you’re navigating a crisis or simply feeling disconnected, couples counseling can help you create lasting, meaningful change.

FAQs

What issues can couples therapy help with?

Couples therapy can help with a wide range of relationship challenges, including communication breakdowns, conflict resolution, infidelity or trust issues, emotional disconnection, life transitions (like marriage, parenting or moving), and navigating different attachment styles or cultural backgrounds.

Do you work with LGBTQ+ or nontraditional couples?

Absolutely. We welcome couples of all genders, orientations, and relationship structures. Our therapists are trained in culturally responsive, affirming care, and bring a nonjudgmental approach to every partnership.

Do we need to be in crisis to start couples counseling?

Not at all! While some couples seek therapy during times of high stress or crisis, many come to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, or deepen their emotional connection. Couples therapy can be both preventative and healing.

Do you offer virtual couples therapy?

Yes. We provide teletherapy for couples across New York state. You can attend sessions from the same location or join separately from different devices — whatever works best for you. We also have limited in person spots available at our Union Square office in NYC.

How often do we meet, and for how long?

Most couples begin with weekly 60-minute sessions. Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine the best pacing. Most couples begin to see improvements within six months of starting sessions.

Do you accept insurance?

We are out-of-network providers, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. However, we provide monthly superbills that many clients submit for reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. We’re happy to walk you through that process.

A Collaborative Assessment Process

Your work with us begins with a thoughtful four-session intake designed to build a strong foundation for growth:

  •  You and your partner will meet together with your therapist to explore your current concerns, relationship history, and shared goals for therapy. You will also be sent home with an assessment packet to complete between sessions - this will help your therapist gather all the necessary information to understand your specific dynamics.

  •  Each partner meets one-on-one with the therapist to share more personal context, relational patterns, and family background that may be influencing your dynamic.

  •  You’ll return as a couple to hear initial impressions and work with your therapist to co-create a customized treatment plan based on your goals.

This in-depth relationship assessment helps your therapist gain a holistic view of your partnership and tailor sessions accordingly. Sessions thereafter will focus on tackling your goals, working through in-the-moment conflict, and helping you build healthier ways of relating through reflection, emotional insight, and practical tools you can use outside of the therapy room.
